Circus facade

After realizing numerous projects in public spaces, I developed this work for an exhibition at the Museum Wiesbaden. The idea was to use a perspective representation to suggest a large deep space, which turns out to be an illusion when you walk around it. For the construction I used old wood from former project. By choosing the Circus facade as a motif, which is inherently temporary, I wanted to critique the illusionistic space of central perspective. From the Italian Renaissance to computer games, this type of representation has dominated everyday imagery and suggest to us that we have power over the world.
